Festive Fun with Kerry Holiday Homes!

 In News

Kerry is a magical place during the festive period and its starts as early as the end of November.

From the 23rd November until the New Year, Killarney in particular has a jam-packed festive agenda for family and groups.

Christmas officially kicks off in Killarney on Saturday 23rd November as festive magic hits the streets with the traditional Big Opening Magical Christmas Parade and turning on off the Christmas lights. This attracts everyone from families, couples, friends and really marks the start of Christmas in Kerry.

From then, there are a range of activities and events to soak up the Christmas atmosphere. From November 29th to January 5th, Killarney on Ice begins which is a great activity to get in the festive spirit by skating on real ice.

There is also the Christmas Craft and Food Fair at The Killarney Outlet Centre on November 24th and admission is free.  Visitors will be spoilt for choice with something to suit all tastes and pockets, with the wide variety of quality handmade Irish crafts for sale, from woodcarvings, pottery/ceramics, candles, and glassware to original paintings, handmade ornaments and Christmas Decorations and Cards.

There is also a range of street entertainment in Killarney throughout December.

Or you can enjoy a scenic, sleigh ride through the Killarney National Park or bustling town.

Muckross House and Gardens is also magical for children and families and a must see if your visiting Killarney over the festive period.

There is also jammed pack schedule for gigs in Kerry’s music venue, the INEC.  Vladmir’s Viennesse Christmas (18th December), Picture This, (21st December), Walking on Cars (December 21st), The Coronas (December 29th); the list is endless. You can take a peep at the full line up here.

Even during the festive lead up we cannot forget what Kerry has to offer in terms of the outdoors. If you like nature or outdoor pursuits, this is a great time to get outside for a stroll, adventurous hike or even a cycle in fresh, breezy weather.

Kerry also has some of the most amazing dining options, whether its fine dining or just good pub grub, you’ll be covered and also lets not forget the nightlife!

That is a short summary of Kerry during the festive period, but there is so much more and our host Denise would be happy to point you in the right direction and also offers a number of tour experiences from Kerry Holiday Homes.
